In mid-July, the stainless steel horizontal mixer custom-made for our Turkish client was successfully shipped via the Port of Istanbul. This equipment, specifically designed for agricultural production in the Mediterranean climate zone, will be deployed at an organic fertiliser production base on the Anatolian Plateau. With its corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant properties and high-efficiency mixing performance, it marks a new milestone in agricultural equipment cooperation between China and Turkey.
To meet Turkey’s demand for organic fertiliser production using olive pomace and livestock manure as primary raw materials, the equipment features a 316 food-grade stainless steel chamber, offering 60% improved corrosion resistance compared to standard stainless steel, capable of withstanding long-term exposure to the high organic acid content in olive pomace. The dual screw conveyor mixing structure creates a convective circulation, enabling the uniform mixing of raw materials with different densities (such as coarse-fibre olive pomace and fine-powdered livestock manure) within 3-5 minutes, achieving a uniformity rate of 98%, thereby resolving the issue of nutrient imbalance in fertilisers caused by uneven mixing in traditional equipment.
Considering Turkey’s high summer temperatures (above 40°C) and dry climate, the equipment has been specially optimised for heat dissipation and sealing performance. The motor compartment is equipped with a forced air cooling system to ensure the temperature does not exceed 65°C during continuous operation; the shaft ends feature a double mechanical seal design combined with food-grade lubricant, preventing dust leakage while avoiding lubricant contamination of raw materials, fully compliant with EU organic fertiliser production hygiene standards. Factory tests show the equipment can mix 8 tonnes of material per hour, with energy consumption reduced by 25% compared to local counterparts.
To ensure safe intercontinental transportation, the team implemented a three-tier protection plan: the mixing chamber is filled with inert gas for corrosion prevention and wrapped in waterproof and shock-resistant film; critical components such as the reducer and motor are packed in separate wooden boxes and equipped with vibration sensors; the shipment includes a Turkish-language operating manual, 3D installation diagrams, and a spare parts package worth 15,000 USD, containing mixing blades, seals, and other wear-prone components.
‘The material and mixing efficiency of this mixer are exactly what we need,’ said the customer representative during the factory acceptance inspection. Their factory processes 50,000 tonnes of olive processing waste annually, with the previous equipment experiencing a failure rate as high as 30% due to corrosion. After the new equipment is put into use, it is expected to reduce raw material loss from 12% to 3%, increasing annual production of high-quality organic fertiliser to 30,000 tonnes, which will supply nearby grape and citrus orchards.
The after-sales service system is being implemented simultaneously: we have partnered with an agricultural machinery service provider in Izmir to offer 48-hour on-site response; a bilingual technical hotline in English and Turkish has been established to support remote fault diagnosis. The equipment also features IoT interfaces, enabling integration with customers’ existing production management systems for intelligent maintenance.
This shipment marks a significant step for Chinese stainless steel mixing equipment entering the Central and Eastern European market. We will continue to focus on Mediterranean agricultural characteristics, optimising the equipment’s raw material adaptability and regional compatibility to provide more reliable mixing solutions for global organic fertiliser production.
